Project WISE - Women in Political Life for a Successful Europe

     The Applicant in collaboration with the Associatia pentru Dezvoltarea Antreprenoriatului Feminin ADAF, Romania, will organize a two-day International Conference "Women in Political Life for a Successful Europe".

General objective: Contribution to the development of citizenship of the EU and of a sense of European identity, based on common values and democratic principles.

Specific objectives:

• Bringing together women from NGOs from several European countries to share ideas, experience and values for the opportunities for participation of women in social and political life;
• Fostering debate on European citizenship, principles of democracy and shared values;
• Encouraging interaction between women organisations from the participating countries;

Main target groups:

• Women NGOs from the participating countries;
• Women - MPs and MEPs;
• Women - decision and policy makers;
• Women - entrepreneurs;
• Women, engaged in the educational, scientific and cultural spheres;
• Women - journalists

The main discussion points will be:

• The opportunities for women to participate actively in the social and political life in Bulgaria;
• Sharing experience and good practices with the participating European partners;
• The role of women in Europe for enhancing European values and strengthening the pillars of democracy;
• Women's contribution to the development of "European citizenship";
• Provoking pro-active attitude to participation of women in social and political live at local, national and European levels;
• Reconciling family obligations and social and political engagements;
• Fostering joint initiatives at European level aimed at creating more women-friendly political environment;
• Development and further promotion of the sense of European identity of the women in Europe
